Platform Guides

Learn how to use the BitMind Platform.

Wallets

To sign transactions and interact with the Bittensor network, you need a wallet. Read on to learn more about supported wallets and how to connect them to the BitMind Platform.

Bittensor Wallet

Bittensor Wallet is the official wallet for the Bittensor network. Create an external wallet by using the Bittensor Wallet extension for your browser. The extension is available for Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Brave.

Follow the guide for creating a basic wallet.

Changing Networks

To use the Bittensor testnet, open your Bittensor Wallet extension and click the menu in the top right. Then, navigate to the settings page. Then, under Network, select TESTNET. The extension will prompt you to restart.

To switch back to the mainnet, follow the same steps and select FINNEY.

Ledger + Talisman

You can also sign transactions with a Ledger device and the Talisman wallet extension. The network will be automatically detected based on your selection in the BitMind Platform.

Replacing miners

Deploying a new miner to replace an existing miner can be useful when you want to reuse the same hotkey.

Follow the steps below to replace an existing miner:

  1. Navigate to the Miners page in the header.
  2. Click on New Miner and follow the steps to deploy a new miner. The new miner must be on both the same network and the same subnet as the existing miner.
  3. When you get to the Subnet registration step, select the same coldkey that the existing miner's hotkey belongs to.
  4. Select the hotkey currently in use by the existing miner.
  5. Click Skip registration, I've already registered my hotkey.
  6. Review the deployment configuration and click on Looks good, deploy!.

Once you no longer see any requests coming in for the existing miner, you can stop the existing miner by clicking on the Stop button on the details page of the miner.
